In these days of Advent Lord,
Our focus is so much on gifts and parties and
holidays.
We pray for a moment Lord
Between thinking of all these things
When we will be caught unaware
And discover the true meaning of Christmas.
Surprise us Lord.
Amen.
NOTRE
DAME FUNDRAISING ENDEAVOURS
SEPTEMBER DECEMBER 2007
The Notre Dame community has been
very busy with various fundraising endeavours since September. We started with the Terry Fox Run is
September where an amazing $2,500 was raised for the Cancer Society. During the month of October, $400 was
donated by students for Toonies for Tuition.
In November our Social Justice Group held a Cake Auction. Staff were asked to make cakes to be
auctioned off during lunch hour. We
received some amazing cakes and raised $900 for our Social Justice group.
During the month of November/December
staff and students have been busy collecting gifts for their Angel Tree
child. Each High School class and
administration was assigned an Angel and gifts were purchased. These were taken to the Carleton Place
detachment of the O.P.P. for distribution.
Grade 7 and 8 students are also collecting for the local Carleton Place
Angel Tree fund.
At the end of November, one of our
Notre Dame families had a tragic fire at their home. Staff and students from Notre Dame held a Dress Down Day and
raised $1,312 which was donated to the family.
As is evident by all this generosity
we are truly a caring community.
Thank you to all the staff, students and parents for your generous
support of our fundraising endeavours.
